OUR RUG RESTORATION - Mackinaw Trail #562

The Castle Museum in Saginaw is the location of our P&R antique rug storage project, funded in 2025 by a grant from Michigan Questers. The entrance to the museum annex, where the rugs are stored and where the Questers worked, is also shown.

The rugs are waiting for the first step in our P&R project: taking the rug off the tube and vacuuming each rug. The members are working on the
rugs to help bring them back to the beauty they once were.

After cleaning the rugs, the final stage is to have them rerolled on the acid free tubes. This storage roller unit is made specifically to protect antique rugs.
